Gear Gate



High Poly Gear Gate
The high poly based off Paul Richards' (www.autodestruct.com) concept for doors in Quake 4.  This was done using 3DS Max, rendered in Mental Ray using Arch & Design material and composited together via Photoshop. Composed of an Arch & Design material pass and an Ambient Occlusion pass.

Low Poly Gear Gate
The low poly version of the Gear Gate. Screen captures from 3Ds Max using the 3Point Shader engine along with an Ambient Occlusion pass to composite via Photoshop. Cube map used to give a better reflectivity of the metal material. Normal map and specular map applied only.

Textured Poly Gear Gate
This is the final texture for the Gear Gate concept. I imagined it as a heavy, sturdy gate made of iron so I kept to the metal color and added rust, dirt and some wear and tear. Once that was complete I added some color and caution stripes to make it stand out a bit.
